Genocide Dinner Series- Lebanon in Milwaukee

The second installment of the Genocide Dinner Series will unfold within the warm embrace of Milwaukees Bronzeville neighborhood. Lebanese cuisine—born of Mediterranean soil—carries a legacy as rich as the lands it springs from. Its dishes are a celebration of fresh, vibrant ingredients and bold, harmonious flavors, an art shaped by centuries of Ottoman, French, and Arab influences. This is food as memory, as resilience, as testament.

For this gathering, the menu is inspired by the intimate homecooked meals of Sudas’ family traditions—meals meant to be shared, savored, and remembered. Over the course of the evenin Rina (Sudas owner), Mustapha (Sudas’ chef), and Souad (Suda) will break bread and share their stories: tales of life and loss, of kitchens that hold the weight of history, and of the ways genocide reverberates through distant lands and close hearts.

This table is set for mourning and for healing, for communion and for understanding. It is an invitation to grieve together, to love fiercely, and to search for meaning in the shared breaking of bread.

We look forward to welcoming you into this space.
